In this activity, we'll be helping our little ones sharpen those fine-motor skills while making some wonderful artwork inspired by Kandinsky's Circles.

Abstract art is such a fun art style to explore with our kids, and there's no better artist for this than Kandinsky!

Kandinsky For Kids

Kandinsky was a painter from Russia who, along with Piet Mondrian and Paul Klee, became one of the most influential artists of the 20th-century.

Although Wassily Kandinsky was a renowned law and economics professor, his interest and passion for art was the drive of his life, so much so that he abandoned his native Russia to study art in Germany at 30 years old.

Almost all his paintings are packed with bright and vibrant colours that draw our attention immediately. This is no accident, though. Kandinsky's art was all about the study of colour. He studied and explored colour and its relationship with different light and shapes throughout his life.

Inspired by Kandinsky's love of colour we had fun creating our own 'Kandinsky Tree' using strips of coloured paper along with a printable tree outline.
