Tape Resist Snowflake Art - Directions

STEP 1: Prepare all your materials.

First things, first! Begin by preparing the surface you'll be working on and collecting all the supplies you'll need. Once everything is ready, invite the little ones to join and let's begin!

STEP 2: Form your snowflake.

Take the tape and use it to make a snowflake shape on the paper you've chosen to use for this craft. Remember to press down the tape hard onto the paper to secure it, we don't want any paint seeping through!

STEP 3: Paint time!

Once you've finished making the shape of your snowflake with the tape, take out the paint!

Encourage your little one to paint the paper using their favourite colours. We went with various shades of blue to create a cool wintery feel to our painting, but feel free to use any colour that takes your toddler or preschoolers fancy!

There's no need to be precise on the painting technique here, so let your child flex those creative muscles! Experiment with mixing colours and using different brushes.

STEP 4: Let paint dry.

Make sure your toddler or preschoolers has covered all edges of the taped on snowflake shape. Once your little one is happy with the design leave the painting to dry.

STEP 5: Peel tape off!

Here is where the magic happens. Check if the paint is completely dry and if it is, slowly peel the tape off to reveal your snowflake!
