How to make a squish art Christmas tree
STEP 1: Gather your supplies
Before you get started, gather up all your supplies in front of you to make the process easier. If you haven't yet downloaded the Christmas tree template, you can find it down below. Make sure to print and cut it out.
STEP 2: Add paint to paper
Start by folding the white craft paper in half vertically and opening it back up. Squirt green paint along one side of the paper and then invite your toddler or preschooler to "squish" it. Encourage them to keep squishing until it covers the entire paper.
After your child is done squishing the paint around the paper, open it up and leave it to dry.
STEP 3: Cut out Christmas tree shape
Grab your Christmas tree template and use it as a stencil to cut out a tree shape from the paper covered in green paint.
STEP 4: Decorate your Christmas tree craft
Next, fold coloured paper in half and glue the tree shape on the front. Invite your child to decorate the tree with stickers, sequins, fingerprints covered in paint, and anything else you can come up with. Have fun and get creative!
