Sensory play supplies:

How to set up a spring sensory bin:

STEP 1: Gather your sensory bin supplies

Get started by gathering up all your supplies. We used the flisat table from ikea for the sensory bins and chose ivy for the fake plants. Use what you have! Sand trays and large plastic storage bins work well to contain everything and real plants work just as well as fake plants.

STEP 2: Prepare the water beads

Start by lining the bottom of a tray with blue and green water beads and add water. Be careful not to add too many as a little goes a long way! After about 20 minutes, the water beads will have started to expand and they will continue to expand over several hours.

SAFETY WARNING: Water beads are dangerous if digested so be sure to fully supervise and only use them with children that won't attempt to put them in or near their mouth.

STEP 3: Setup the sensory bins

Once the water beads are ready, you can start adding the accessories. Add lily pads and frogs to the bin with the water beads.

Line a second tray with blue fabric to mimic the water of a pond. Add a log and some more frog toys. Decorate with fake (or real!) plants.
