Vampire Blood Halloween Slime

Turn the spookiest holiday of the year into an extra fun experience by making this Vampire Blood Halloween Slime that kids will love!

Vampire Blood Halloween Slime

Making Halloween props is one of my children's favourite things, and I can't say I blame them; Halloween stuff is so much fun!

This Halloween we decided to start early and experiment with slime, adding a spooky element to it. After all, it's supposed to be the scariest night of the whole year!

This Halloween slime is creepy enough to make it Halloween appropriate but not too creepy to make it actually scary. It's just a simple and fun gooey slime recipe that your kids will love to play with.
It's perfect for making with the kids before going out trick-or-treating!

Slime Safety Notice - Adult supervision is required. Thoroughly wash your hands before and after making and playing with slime. Do not substitute any ingredients in our slime recipes. Some contact solution brands work better than others, only contact solutions containing borate or boric acid will create slime.

Vampire Blood Halloween Slime - Supplies:

  • 1 (6 ounce) bottle Elmer's Glue in clear

Gather everything you need and prepare the surface you'll be working on. Take your glue and empty the 6-ounce bottle content into a bowl.

STEP 2: Mix the water and the glue.

Fill up the empty glue bottle with about ¼ cup of lukewarm water and seal the lid. Shake thoroughly to mix all the remaining leftover glue with the warm water and then pour it into the bowl with the glue. Stir well.

STEP 3: Add the baking soda and the "blood".

Once the glue and the water are well mixed, add the baking soda into it and keep stirring to mix thoroughly. Then, add the food colouring and keep stirring the mixture.

STEP 4: Add the ingredient that will make this slime come together.

Here's when the magic happens! Take the contact lens solution and add it to the glue mixture slowly, making sure to stir, until you form a softball.

STEP 5: Knead your slime.

Take the slime out of the bowl and begin to play and massage the slime. It will be sticky at first, but if you knead it as you would with bread dough, the slime will come together, and it won't be sticky anymore.

Once it's no longer sticky to the touch, your blood slime is ready to play with!
