Easy Sidewalk Chalk Paint Recipe - using only 3 ingredients!

Sidewalk Chalk Paint

Sidewalk Chalk Paint Recipe Supplies:

• 2 tablespoons baking soda
• 1 ½ cups cornstarch
• 1 cup warm water
• Water-soluble food colouring

Sidewalk Chalk Paint Recipe:

WARNING: Food colouring can stain, but in my experience, the stains fade within a couple of days. If staining is something that you are worried about grab your hose pipe and wash the area you have painted on straight after use or alternatively try our stainless chalk paint recipe. 

STEP 1: Mix, mix, mix!

Once you have all your supplies to hand and your ingredients measured out, take a large bowl and start mixing the baking soda and the cornstarch. Then add the water and mix everything together until you get a blended mixture.

STEP 2: Colour time.

Now it's time to add in the colour. But first, you need to divide the mixture into different containers.

Add one colour into each container.

Remember to stir well. You will only need a drop or two of food colouring.

Repeat for each colour you require.

PRO TIP: This mixture settles fast and it gets thick on the bottom, so be careful about timing and make sure to do it all at once without spending too long between steps.

STEP 3: Get painting!

Now it is time to have fun getting creative with your sidewalk chalk paint. Feel free to apply the paint with paint brushes, although I find it way easier and more fun to pour the paint directly from a bottle or you can even a spoon.
