Shamrock Wand
Supplies needed for your shamrock wand
- Wooden dowel, chopstick, or skewer
- Craft felt - various rainbow colours
- Craft foam - green
- Scissors
- Craft glue (or hot glue and a glue gun)
- Gold glitter
Directions to make your shamrock wand
STEP 1: Gather your supplies
As always, make sure to gather up your supplies before you get started. This makes the process much easier!
STEP 2: Prepare the rainbow pieces
To get started, cut the rainbow coloured felt into thin strips, about 5-6 inches in width.
STEP 3: Cut the shamrock piece
Next, we need to create the shamrock. You have two options for this - fold the foam in half and cut out half of the design (shaped as two hearts) and then unfold it back out. This is how we made the shamrock wand pictured.
Alternatively trace and cut out this shamrock template included in another St. Patrick's Day craft.
STEP 4: Assemble the shamrock wand
Once you've done that, add some glue to the top of the stick and press the shamrock into place. Hold it there for a few seconds, until it is secured to the stick.
Next, add the rainbow strips by applying more glue and pressing them into place.
STEP 5: Finalize your shamrock wand
To finish up your shamrock craft, add some glue to the front side of your shamrock and then sprinkle some gold glitter to the glue. Shake off any access and then you are ready to display and play!
