Popsicle Stick Leprechaun Craft for Kids

Leprechaun Craft - Supplies:

• Regular size popsicle sticks 
• Small popsicle sticks 
• Paint & Paint Brushes
• Black Marker 
• Craft Eyes
• Pipe Cleaners  
• Hot Glue
• Other Assorted Craft Decoration, If Desired 

Popsicle Stick Leprechaun Craft - Directions:

STEP 1: Prepare your popsicle sticks 

Begin by lining up seven regular sized popsicle sticks. You are going to glue them in place using a hot glue gun and your smaller popsicle sticks.  

Heat up your hot gun and once it's ready, run a line of hot glue across the entire length of one of the smaller popsicle sticks.Then, press it horizontally onto one end of the seven regular-size sticks. Repeat the same step on the other end. Once the glue is cold and dry, you'll have a board made with popsicle sticks.  

STEP 2: Paint the leprechauns hat

Turn the popsicle sticks over so that the smaller popsicles sticks that are holding your board together are on the back. Then it is time to start painting! Paint the top section with a solid coat of green paint to create your Leprechaun's hat. Then using the same green paint one regular-size popsicle stick.

Using your hot glue gun glue the single popsicles stick that you painted green on the hat's edge as shown below. 

STEP 3: Add the leprechauns features & hair.

Glue on some eyes and give your leprechaun a nose and a smile using your black marker.  Then using a paintbrush and some orange paint, add the beard and hair by lightly stamping the brush, creating a "fuzzy" effect.

Now you just need to add the hat's decorations! Glue on a black pipe cleaner and then cut and glue on a small piece of gold pipe cleaner to act as the buckle. 

That's it ! Your popsicle stick leprechaun craft is now complete. Don't forget though it is always fun to personalise crafts to make them your own! Why not add some green sequins, glitter or paper flowers to your leprechauns hat. Some glittery rainbow stickers would also look so cute and keep up with the theme!
