With the help of our heart template and step by step directions it couldn't be easier to help your little ones make some precious heart art!

We love any sort of crafts that encourage our kids to express their unique personality, and although this paper heart craft comes with a template, it allows little ones to show their creativity!

Paper Strip Heart Craft

Paper Heart Craft - Supplies:

• Heart template
• Cardstock - red, pink, purple
• Paper - assorted colours and patterns
• Scissors
• Glue stick

Paper Heart Craft - Instructions:

STEP 1: Get the heart template!

Get a copy of our heart template from the bottom of the page. After that, you then should print it out and get all your supplies ready. 

I raided my supplies and gathered every piece of papercraft I had, and I recommend doing the same. The more options, the better!

STEP 2: Prepare card.

Cut out two pieces of card into square shapes that are slightly bigger than the heart template. Use the template as a guide. 

The first piece of card will need a heart shape cut out of it. Trace the heart shape from the template onto your chosen card and then cut it out (use the images below as a guide.) 

Keep the second piece of square card for later, this card can be the same colour as the first piece or a different colour. 

STEP 3: Cut paper strips.

Gather all the different coloured papers you have (prints and patterns are also amazing for this craft!) and cut them into thin strips. 

You can go with the traditional colours for Valentine's Day like red hues, pinks, or romantic patterns but let the kids pick their fave!

STEP 4: Glue paper strips.

Glue the strips of paper to the piece of card without the heart cut out. Let the little ones do this step, it's super fun!  Try to keep the strips within the square. If it looks a bit messy, you can always trim off the paper strips to fit better and make it look neater at the end if you want to. 

STEP 5: Glue on heart!

As a final step, you just need to glue the card with the heart cut out over the card covered in paper strips. Your Valentine's Day craft is now ready to be delivered to a loved one or displayed with pride!
