Homemade Hand Sanitizer Recipe

Moisturizing Hand Sanitizer Gel Recipe Supplies:

• 1/3 cup Aloe Vera gel
• 1 cup 120 proof or higher drinking alcohol or 90% or higher isopropyl alcohol
• 1 tablespoon vegetable glycerin
• 1/2 tablespoon sweet almond oil
• 1/2 tablespoon rosehip oil
• *5-10 drops of lime essential oil
• 5-10 drops of spearmint oil
• 5-10 drops of  basil essential oil
•  3 3 ounce plastic squeeze top travel bottles
• Measuring cup
• Funnel
• Whisk

*Please note that due to the shortage of some supplies in this recipe, you may need to check other retailers either online or in your area for availability or substitutions. 

Moisturizing Hand Sanitizer Gel Recipe Directions:

Step 1: Mix aloe vera gel and alcohol

Take your aloe vera gel and alcohol, add both to a measuring cup and mix them together.

Step 2: Add the glycerin and rosehip oil.

Add the vegetable glycerin and rosehip oil to the aloe vera and alcohol mix you just made and mix everything together.

Step 3: Add your chosen essential oils.

Whisk in your essential oils.

(I've chosen essential oils that are shown to be safe for children. Please, check online guidelines for the safe ratio of essential oils to carrier oils recommended for the age of your little one)

If you're making this for adults, you can double the amount of essential oils in this recipe.

Step 4: Pour your gel sanitizer into a bottle.

Take your funnel and add the mixture into your bottle. Try to stop adding once you get about ½” from the top of the bottle. Once this is done, screw the lid tightly and attach a label to the bottle with glue!
