Hand Washing Colouring Page & Activity for Kids

Young children often don't realise how important it is to wash their hands. They tend to either not worry about washing their hands at all or wash their hands in two seconds flat by quickly running their hands under the tap. This printable hand washing colouring page is the perfect activity to do with your child to encourage hand washing. Display it near the sink to remind little ones that they need to wash their hands to help reduce the spread of germs.

Germ activity

A fun way of showing children how easily germs spread is to use glitter! Pour a small amount of glitter onto your child's hands. Tell them that the glitter represents germs. Ask them to touch the door handle, shake hands etc so they can see how easily the glitter (germs) spread. Then ask them to wash their hands by running them under the tap. Has all the glitter (germs) gone? Or do they need to wash their hands more carefully?
