Chinese New Year Paper Fortune Cookies for Kids

Paper fortune cookies supplies:

• Patterned Paper
• A cup
• Pen
• Scissors
• Glue Gun
• Written Fortunes Printable

How to make paper fortune cookies: 

STEP 1: Prepare your supplies

Gather up all your supplies and print out the motivational messages to place inside your fortune cookies. You will need patterned paper to make this craft, this can be decorated or pre printed paper. You could even add Chinese writing to some of your fortune cookies!

STEP 2: Cut out a circle

Once you have decorated or chosen a patterned paper place a cup onto the back of your paper and trace around your cup making a perfect circle. Cut out your circle.

STEP 3: Add your motivational message

Place your motivational message in the middle of the circle. You can use those from the printable below or make up your own. 

STEP 4: Glue fortune cookie

Fold the circle in half, but do not crease flat. Put your thumb and your middle finger on the ends, and use another finger to gently press the middle inward. Use a glue gun to place a small glue dollop in the fold to hold it in place.

That's it! Now it is time to hand out your fortune cookies filled with motivational messages. It would be fun to make these paper fortune cookies any time of the year, they don't have to be just saved for Chinese New Year.
