STEP 2: Glue the cardboard gingerbread house

You can use craft glue to glue your cardboard gingerbread house together, but I would suggest using a glue gun for this step as it can be a little fiddly and it will be harder to hold it together if you have to wait for the glue to dry.

Start with the gingerbread house roof. Thread string through the cardboard roof. This will be for hanging your gingerbread house ornament on the Christmas tree when it is complete.

Now start glueing the cardboard house together. Glue the chimney to the roof and then glue on the sides and finally the base of the gingerbread house.

You can use paint, markers, paint pens, glitter, cotton balls, stickers, really anything! The important thing is to have fun and enjoy the process of decorating your own gingerbread house.

To decorate your gingerbread house like the image below use an acrylic paint pens to draw a door, windows, tiles and extra details and then add a glittery heart sticker.
