Incy Wincy Spider Craft

Incy Wincy Spider crafts are perfect for Autumn. With spiders taking over our garden and house at the moment (which Harry loves and I hate!) we thought it would be fun to make a toy spider. Harry LOVES singing nursery rhymes so we decided to make rain, a sunshine and a drain pipe so he could act out the nursery rhyme 'Incy Wincy Spider'.

You will need:

  • egg box
  • pipe cleaners
  • googly eyes
  • paint
  • thread
  • card
  • yellow collage
  • blue tinsel

How to make Incy Wincy Spider:

  1. Cut out and paint a section of an egg box.
  2. Once dry make 4 holes on each side of the egg box and poke the pipe cleaners through for the legs.
  3. Add googly eyes and a smile.
  4. Put a piece of thread through the top of your spider so you can make him dangle.

For the drain pipe cover a piece of cardboard in kitchen foil. Make a sunshine from yellow card. We covered ours with yellow items from our collage box. Tinsel makes great rain. Put a bit of tape around the top of it to create a handle.

Harry has played with it every day since making it, either singing the song or chasing his dad around the house with the spider.
