Blow Painting Lung Craft Instructions:

STEP 1: Prepare the printable lung template

Scroll down to grab a copy of the printable lung template and print it onto thick white paper or thin white cardstock. Alternatively, draw your own lung outline using a black marker.

STEP 2: Paint the lungs

Once you have the lung template, start by painting the lungs with red, pink, and blue paint as shown below. If you have images of lungs in information books, you could also use them as a guide.

Let the paint dry completely. If you don't have time to wait for the paint to dry, consider using coloured pencils instead.

STEP 3: Add the drips with an awesome technique.

To complete your lung craft you are now going to use a fun blow painting technique to blow blue paint onto the lung template.

The blue paint needs to be watered down before you begin. Make the blue paint thinner by adding water; you want it to have an ink-like consistency.

Add drips of the watery blue paint onto the lung template and use a straw to blow and move the paint around. Leave the blue paint to dry.

Your lung painting is complete!

As a final step, you may choose to mount your lung craft onto a piece of construction paper as shown below.
