Completing Christmas coloring pages is a perfect way to make sure an afternoon is filled with joy and laughter, even on those chilly winter days!
This Elf coloring page involves drawing lines with pencils or markers and coloring the cute elf in Christmas colors.
There is no need to draw this little elf from scratch with our free template. You can choose which elf you want to work with, we've included a girl elf and a boy elf.
This easy-to-do activity does not require any special supplies or prep time - just colored markers and pencils, plus our *free* printable template!

Elf Coloring Page - Line Art Project
Elf Colouring Page - Supplies:
- Crayons and colored pencils
- Black marker
- Elf Printable Template
- Scissors
- Black cardstock
- Glue
Christmas Line Art for Kids - Instructions:
STEP 1 - Gather your supplies:
To start, scroll to the bottom of this post and grab our ready-to-print Christmas Elf template for free.
Print it out and get all your colored pencils and markers ready for the coloring part!
STEP 2 - Draw the lines:
Invite the kids to start drawing lines on the template using a thin black marker or a pencil, making sure to fill each section that creates the elf's shape.
Lines can be simple, or you can also encourage your kids make wavy or zig-zag lines, whatever they can think of - as long as the lines stay within each blank area.
STEP 3 - Color your elf colouring page:
Grab your crayons or colored pencils and color your cute elf!
For the colors, we chose Christmas-themed tones for this little elf: red, green, yellow, blue, light, and dark brown. We used the same colors for our girl elf, too, but use your imagination and use any colours that you are drawn to.
Once your elf coloring page is ready, cut the edges with scissors neatly. Then, take a black piece of cardstock and glue your finished coloring page onto it.
Let it dry and just like that, your elf line art project is ready to be displayed!
