Do you have a favourite photograph that you would like to turn into a piece of art?  I don't have just one, I have thousands of favourite photos! Choosing which photos to display in my house is always a tricky decision.  I want to display pictures that really stand out, things that look a little different, so I love the idea of turning photos to art using digital art effects.

I have been so impressed by the effects that you can create using the befunky photo to art effects that I couldn't wait to share them with you.

There are lots of different digital art effects to choose from, 48 in total.  My personal favourite is the oil painting effect. I tried it out using one of my favourite black and white photographs taken of my two children and I love the results.

On a recent day out I took some photographs of the children playing in the woods.  I added the oil painting effect to a picture of Daisy throwing leaves and one of Harry with his hat on.

The oil painting effect looks good on photographs of landscapes too.  I tried it out using one of my wedding photographs. It totally changes the feel of the photo.

Another really fun effect available at Befunky is the cartoonizer. It is so easy to go from photo to cartoon.  I cartoonized a black and white photo of Harry playing in the leaves. I love the detail on the leaves Harry is holding and the textured background, even his hair looks really cool!

I added the cartoonizer effect to a photo of Daisy dressed as a princess with a forest backdrop. Adding the cartoon effect has added depth to the photograph and made it look totally magical.

Turning photos of flowers into art can be really effective too. I added the cartoonizer effect to a bunch of roses that I had on valentines day.
