Have you seen any robins yet this year? We always see lots of them outside our house as we head into Winter. Take a look at these DIY bird feeders which might encourage a few more birds to pay you a visit and have a go at making a salt dough handprint robin for a keepsake to treasure forever.

Footprint Robin - Directions

The first thing you need to do to make this adorable footprint robin is make some brown footprints on a piece of white card. We always make loads of prints so that we can choose our favourite ones to turn into pictures or cards.

Once the footprints are dry add a beak and legs to the birds using a black sharpie and then cut the birds out. I think it looks nice to leave a little white border around the edge of the footprints (and it makes it easier to cut them out too!) When you cut the footprints out make sure you leave a space for the birds tummy which we will be adding later.

Glue a googly eye to the bird's head and a red feather to his tummy, the fluffier the red feathers the better! TA DAH, aren't these little footprint robins adorable!

Now you need to decide what to do with your little footprint robins. You could stick them to a canvas or frame them as keepsakes, you could add them to a larger bird picture or you could turn them into greeting cards.

We stuck our footprint robins onto gold card and added some cotton wool along the bottom of the card for snow.
