A luminary is simply a paper lantern. Also sometimes called luminarias or luminary lights, these lanterns are usually made with paper and candles.
Nowadays, people usually go for LED or solar candles to avoid accidents, but this doesn't take away any of these charming lights!
You and the children can make this lovely paper lantern in no time and celebrate Valentine's Day in the cutest way possible.

Valentine's Day Paper Luminary
Paper Luminary - Supplies:
- Cardstock Paper.
- Craft papers.
- Pencil.
- Ruler.
- Scissors.
- Paper Glue.
Paper Lantern - Instructions:
STEP 1: Download and print our bird luminary template!
Begin by downloading the Luminary template (scroll down below!) and print it out. Cut out the template and draw around it onto your chosen coloured paper.
STEP 2: Cut out the shapes.
Cut out the base for the luminary, and fold it following the template's lines.
STEP 3: Cut out the birds.
Using the template, find the bird shapes and cut them out. Then, take the bird shapes and glue them onto a piece of red paper.
STEP 4: Attach the heart.
Now, take that same red paper with the bird shapes attached and glue it on the back of your heart cutout.
STEP 5: Secure it.
Add a few drops of glue to the small crease on the base.
Attach the glued section to the other end of your base and wait until the glue dries completely.
STEP 6: Light it up!
Once dry, add your candle of choice and... you're paper luminary is ready to light up!
