Microwave Playdough

We get through a LOT of playdough as Harry absolutely loves it!  We love using this simple playdough recipe that's made in the microwave.  We have as much fun making it as playing with it!

To make this playdough you need:

2 cups of plain flour,
2 cups of water,
1 cup of salt,
1 tbs of oil,
1 tsp of cream of tartar

Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl.  Put the bowl in the microwave for about 5 minutes (stirring half way through).  Keep checking it as some microwaves need less time. Once it has cooled down a bit take the playdough out of the bowl and knead it together.  Thats it!  (If you want coloured playdough just add a few drops of food colouring to the water before mixing)

TIPS: Store the playdough in an airtight container and it will last for ages.  Occasionally the playdough ends up a little sticky, if this happens just knead in a little more flour.  The first time you make it keep checking the mixture every minute or two as the timing varies depending on your microwave

Let me know how you get on!
