Leaf and Apple Printing

Leaf and apple printing is such a fun art process for toddlers and preschoolers. It is extra messy and involves lots of paint, which is a definite winner with little tots! As we head into autumn it is the perfect time of year for an apple craft or two and combining leaf printing and apple printing is the perfect combination.

Leaf and apple printing

The first part of this activity involves going outdoors to hunt for some apples and leaves. Once you have a good selection of apples and leaves head back indoors and get ready to get painty!

We set out a huge piece of paper on the table and got printing.  We started by using green paint to do some leaf prints (and lots of handprints).  I helped Harry paint each leaf and press it down onto the paper.

Once the green paint had dried we used red paint to do some apple prints (and lots of handprints).  Harry dipped the apple into a plate of red paint and then onto his paper.
He then thought it would be great fun to start painting his face! Definitely a very messy activity!
